On TrackFollowing three hockey festivals our team have participated in, accolades are pouring in, not only from happy parents but opposition coaches who see the amazing progress our girls are making.

Only in our second year we are taking on some of the strongest clubs and beating them; a healthy situation which we must all be proud of.
Our coach Sean Donaldson was issued high praise for our teams from one of the leading personalities in the hockey fraternity.

A big thank you goes out to all our coaches, girls and parents for all the help and participation as well as the continued encouragement from Mrs Whiteley.

Our girls look stunning in their new uniforms and jackets. We are being noticed at festivals.

Sean DonaldsonSean is a Natal boy at heart and started his school life at Clifton Nottingham Road Junior School and matriculated from Michaelhouse in 2012.

He represented both Kwazulu Natal Inland and Southern Gauteng Hockey from U13 level and currently plays premier league hockey for the Wits club as well as the Varsity side.

Sean is 21 years old, a handsome single guy, and is a current Law student at Wits.

He has a FIH level 1 coaching qualification and is personally in charge of the school 1st XI and the U12A team at Roedean.

Sean states “As a person I have far too much energy and find coaching the ultimate release and A LOT of fun. Working with Epic Stars has given me the opportunity to work with girls whose enthusiasm and energy matches mine and ultimately allow for a truly rewarding experience”.
Sean has established himself as a prominent member of the Epic hockey stars coaching staff and let’s hope we have many years of his expertise.

It is not the winning that counts, but to see the development of these young girls into confident happy people together with seeing their growth in communication which is paramount in our focus.

To the girls - we must all work together as a team; individual improvement is great, we must now work on our team skills.

Remember there is no "I" in TEAM

The girls look lovely in their new kit. Thanks to Denise for the organising, ordering and administration that goes into such a task.

Keep working on those core strength exercises as part of our fitness programme. Ten minutes of work out per day will help you to become stronger and more competitive in your hockey matches.

An exciting new development for next year: We have acquired a skills technique testing programme from a well known Dutch coach and plan to implement these exercises at the beginning of the new season. This will enable our girls not only to see their progress throughout their attendance at coaching sessions but to have the opportunity to work on their strengths and weaknesses.

Jose Murinho - Coach of Chelsea football club and winners of the English Premier League football championship.

To be the ultimate team you must use your body and your mind. Draw upon the resources of your teammates, choose your steps wisely and you will win. Remember only teams succeed.
